A story of the China-Mongolia joint archaeology in Gol Mod 2, Arkhangai Mongolia

The Gol Mod 2, located in Öndör-Ulaan, Arkhangai of Mongolia, is a cemetery for the Xiongnu nobles. According to the latest survey, there are 571 different types of tombs scattering throughout the cemetery, including 104 terrace tombs, 326 satellite tombs, and 141 independent circular tombs. During 2017-2019, the China-Mongolia joint archaeological team excavated tomb M189 and M10 on this site. This book provides a detailed introduction to the environment, archaeological work and findings of the Gol Mod 2 project, as well as the lives of team members on the grassland.
