Xipo Cemetery in Lingbao City

The Xipo Cemetery in Lingbao City, Henan Province, is the first cemetery from the Middle Yangshao period to be excavated in the core area of the culture. It was rated as one of the "China's Top Ten New Archaeological Discoveries of 2006". This archaeological report provides a comprehensive introduction to the basic data of the Xipo Cemetery and includes results from multidisciplinary studies such as physical anthropology, dietary analysis, starch grain analysis, strontium isotope analysis, parasitic analysis of human remains, ancient plant analysis, and ceramic residue analysis. These data and research findings are of great significance in understanding the production, lifestyle, and social complexity of the Middle Yangshao period.
